Co-founder: I.T. Partners

In 1993, Carol co-founded I.T. Partners to provide multihousing professionals with tools and solutions on demand. She recognized the need for a uniform method to train employees that is cost effective and enables them to be more productive. With the knowledge requirements expanding combined with ongoing employee turnover the lack of consistent and timely training means operational inefficiencies, loss of marketshare and potential legal liability. Similarly, she saw that there was the need to design and implement more effective marketing strategies that would capture and retain residents and employees in our increasingly competitive industry.

She joined forces with another industry leader, Neil Fjellestad, who introduced her to a world of multimedia artists and cutting-edge technologies that could bring solutions to these problems. The challenges included: applying and integrating the technologies to the real-world situations being encountered by property management professionals; not forfeiting the personal touch required by customers and employees; gaining the confidence of our industry to try new methods to solve "institutional" problems; making these solutions user-friendly and cost-effective so they would be fully utilized.

Certainly, Carol would be the first to acknowledge that I.T. Partners is evolving. "We remain in a whirlwind of change," says Levey in a recent interview. "However, there have been some notable accomplishments. We have provided the industry with 'Let's Lease' - the first computer based, multimedia, interactive training CD-ROM for leasing specialists. This is being followed up with 'Service Sells' - a similar production on customer satisfaction and resident retention. Look for 'Orientation for On-site Employees' which is fashioned after custom productions we have provided leading companies within the industry. 'Fairhousing Fundamentals' will also be available this year."

"There are nearly forty workshops that we have developed and team-teach inside management companies and for local associations all over the country. We have gone further to design custom programs for these companies and associations. We have successfully coached on-site teams through the new lease-up or the repositioning process."

"Then there is itpartnersonline, our interactive website, that is steadily becoming a "virtual office" for our clients. From this site we can design custom training and marketing tools for their immediate use. There is also Ms. Management, a syndicated online QandA column in conjunction with AptBiz available as another 'on demand' resource. The latest industry innovation being introduced by I.T. Partners will be AptCampus.com but more on that later."
